Timothy Atticus lives and works in New York. His recent abstractions reference forms from nature and relish the possibilities of paint as temporal, tactile, and perpetually unfinished. Atticus's work is in numerous private collections worldwide and was first recognized nationally at The Whitney Biennial in 2008. He currently teaches drawing at SUNY Oneonta.
Atticus graduated from the Cooper Union School of Art. He holds a Master's in Art History from SUNY Purchase in New York and has won many awards, including the TAM prize for excellence in Fine Arts and the Neuberger Museum of Art Curatorial Fellowship, among others.
